At West End Synagogue, we know that a truly vibrant Jewish community is one where everyone can participate fully—spiritually, intellectually, and socially. Whether you’re joining us in person or online, for the first time or the thousandth, we want you to feel at home.
Below is an overview of how we strive to make our community accessible for all.
Physical Accessibility
- Elevator Access: Our building is fully accessible via elevator, and entrances and interior spaces are designed to accommodate mobility devices.
- Reserved Seating: If you need specific seating arrangements, our ushers are happy to assist.
Support for Newcomers
- Ushers at Every Service: Friendly, knowledgeable ushers are present at all services to help orient you—where to sit, where to find books, how the service flows, and anything else you might need.
- Warm Human Beings: We can’t resist adding this one. Our community is known for being genuinely welcoming, not just politely welcoming.
Inclusive Facilities
- All-Gender Restrooms: We offer all-gender restrooms to ensure comfort and dignity for every member and guest.
- Family-Friendly Spaces: Toys, books, and quiet activities are available downstairs on the kiddush level for anyone who might need a break during services.
Remote & Hybrid Participation
- Zoom Services & Programs: Many of our services, classes, and events are available via Zoom, allowing participation from home, while traveling, or when accessibility needs make in-person attendance difficult. Some of our programs are livestreamed, while others are hybrid/interactive.
